In the spirit of calling it as I see it, today we talk about the need for folks looking for a reliable Real Estate Agent to take some steps to verify claims made by agents they are considering working with.
After you have talked with your prospective agent, take a few minutes to review the marketing material they have given you about themselves. Browse their website for the same kind of information. Then, take a moment to verify some of their claims. To illustrate the potential problem, let me use the example of Bryan & Yvonne Carpenter.
If you do a search on "Bryan & Yvonne Carpenter" (including the quotes) on google, you will find hundreds of real estate agents and brokers websites claiming this couple in their testimonial section. Most of these are identical with identical photos of "The Carpenters". Clearly, these testimonials are bogus creations.
If you find an agent you are considering doing this kind of thing, I strongly suggest you move on to the next agent.
