Why am I not surprised that while the media suggests the latest unemployment numbers are good news…. it’s actually not.
We actually LOST full time jobs.
That’s right, in terms of full time white collar jobs – we LOST a bunch of those.
A surge in part-time jobs is not something to celebrate.
Becoming a home owner is not facilitated by part time jobs.
Plus the people we do not count.
The participation rate matters.
We don’t count those who are not actively looking for a job, even if they want one.
Way fewer people in “The Workforce”.
There are 623,000 fewer people in the workforce now than were in it in February 2020.
