I know I saw it frequently, but knowledge is power. Knowing the truth about lies can save you money and heartache in any real estate deal.
Why tolerate liars?
It is less about tolerance and more about simply understanding they exist and using that understanding to your own advantage.
How can you determine if someone is lying?
Pay attention. As a wise man once said, “Trust but verify”. In the process of doing that, you will usually discover who is not being completely honest. Once you do, it should be a signal to you to take additional precautions – particular with any verbal assertions that are not backed up in writing.
Why not just refuse to do business with them?
That is always an option, but you might miss out on properties you love. Consider that once you know about someones deception, you can use that to your own advantage. It may require more for due diligence, but in the end, you achieve your goals and you will never have to see that person again.
